| Malioboro Street |
Malioboro street is named one of the three-way streets in the city of Yogyakarta, which stretches from the monument to the intersection Yogyakarta Post Office. As a whole consists of Mangkubumi Prince Street, Malioboro street and General Ahmad Yani. This road is an imaginary axis line of the Sultan's Palace.
There are several historical objects in the region include threestreets of Yogyakarta Monument, Monument Station, the Great House, Market Beringharjo, Offensive and Monuments VredeburgOemoem March 1.
Malioboro street is very popular with street vendors who sell theircrafts and food stalls jogja lesehan at night selling food and warmtypical jogja known as a gathering place of artists-artists who oftenexpress their capabilities such as playing music, painting, hapeningart, mime and others along this path. One shopping center in Yogyakarta. Malioboro crowd and splendorcan not be separated from the many street vendors who line thestreet peddling his wares Malioboro, almost everything is offered goods / items as souvenirs of Jogja / souvenirs for tourists.
They traded the typical handicrafts Jogjakarta, among others,Imitation Key Chain rattan handicrafts, leather, batik, silver, bambooand others, in the form of batik clothing, leather bags, leather shoes, rattan ornament, leather puppets, bamboo key chains, spoons /forks silver, blangkon batik [hat is kind of Jogja / Java], t-shirts withvarious models / papers and many others.
The street vendors have to hold merchandise on the table, cart onlythose that hold the plastic on the floor. So when it was busy Malioboro among visitors will jostle each other because of the narrowness of the road for pedestrians as it is quite dense and the number of traders on the right and left.
